Edges, 18:30

Dancing on the edge resonates equally with freedom and uncertainty. Outside the safe zone, it lures monotonous and predictable lives. This scenario might be familiar for Šimun, the protagonist of the Croatian film Summer Fruits. He is cramped between a sick mother, a sister that’s leaving, and a remote girlfriend passing through. On the other hand, in an animated film The Shadow of the Sun, Boaz crosses the edge and breaks all ties with his family, friends, and his former life.

. The author of a documentary film Why is Mum Always Crying dwells into memories through the love letters of her parents that revoke her childhood in a war-affected town of Pustograd. Spreading roots on a territory that doesn’t belong to him brings to the edge a Brazilian farmer Nego (No Place). He is forced to recreate his life after the land he worked on gets sold. In an animated film Golden Gym seventy-year-old Tzsvi refuses to stay within the boundaries of his age.
