ARTIST TALK: Saša Tatić
Side programme of this year’s STIFF offers young artists an opportunity to delve into the world of creativity through workshops by renowned artists. One such person is Saša Tatić, and this discussion with her will open space to learn, be inspired and explore contemporary artistic practices outside of the conventional.
On 22 November from 3:30 until 5PM, Saša Tatić will offer a unique insight into contemporary art with her own experience, recent projects and The Urge, her work presented at the Exit Thread exhibition. Saša will talk about her shows and her artistic process, with special emphasis on visual storytelling enabling her to explore themes of migration, generational differences, and the female experience.
Through the presentation of her artistic practice, artist Saša Tatić will share her experiences, observations, as well as recent exhibitions and projects, and will further introduce her work The Urge, which is featured in the Exit Thread exhibition as part of the STIFF festival’s side programme.
Born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Saša Tatić embodies the voice of a new generation of emigrants that balance between their homeland and new surroundings, between challenges of cultural expectations and everyday realities. Saša uses visual and poetic language to ponder collective expectations and stereotypes, creating work that touches universal questions of belonging and identity.
Saša is an active participant in the regional and international art scene.
She is one of the co-founders of the artistic association Fully Funded Residencies e.V, and a member of the feminist organization CRVENA in Sarajevo, committed to equality and inclusivity in the artistic community.
She lives and works in Berlin, visiting Bosnia whenever she can, keeping in touch with the cultural context that informs her work.
STIFF — Student International Film Festival is supported by Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), City of Rijeka, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Serbian National Council, and Goethe Institute Zagreb. The festival takes place in Art-kino Croatia.
