Dear film buffs, prepare the popcorn as you are about to take part in the most exciting event of the year – the International Student Film Festival is celebrating its tenth anniversary!
The spark of passion for cinema, creativity and films that has been carrying us for the past ten years is firing up once again, from 22 until 26 November, for the 10th STIFF. This year’s edition is filled with fantastic, inspiring, and entertaining films, so save the date and brace yourselves for a proper cinematic adventure!
The festival presents student work from all over the world, giving young filmmakers a chance to present their talents on the big screen. Maša Drndić and Marta Ban have once again devoted themselves to choose 40 short- and medium-length films from over 600 submissions, tailoring a programme that will give you an unforgettable film experience. Delve into a wide range of genres, including feature, animated, documentary and experimental films that will touch and, hopefully, inspire you.
Apart from film screenings, SKC Gallery is also offering a rich side programme. Before the festival starts, from 22 until 22 November we have created a pre-festival programme Mercury Retrograde, exploring visual communication and social critique that has marked the past decade.
As a result of Paspartu workshops, the students got the opportunity to curate and put on an exhibition and side programmes under the guiding hands and eyes of curator Elena Apostolovski and artist Damjan Šporčić. The exhibition, titled Démodé, will let you into long-forgotten, unknown, but always present memories, with the awareness that the only true constant over the years is change itself. Apart from the main exhibition, there are the Arcade workshops, inviting the participants to understand and perceive the world of film and fine arts through various activities. And finally, the sugar on top – the inspiring Tales of Studying will offer you a glimpse into the glamour of filmmaking on the last day of the festival.
Do not miss out on being part of this wonderful film tale! Mark the dates in your calendar, invite friends, and join us at the tenth International Student Film Festival. The entrance to all programmes is free of charge. For more information, follow us on social media and our web-site. See you around!
