Let us introduce you to the mouth-watering supporting program of 9th STIFF
This year’s STIFF film festival has a rich offer and will enchant even the most demanding critics. In addition to the rich film program, which is “the main course” of the festival, the organizers made an effort to make “the side dishes” just as filling.
— Multidisciplinary, international exhibition all GAME no PLAY, curated by Elena Apostolovski and the curatorial team consisting of Elena Apostolovski, Petra Čargonja, Katarina Kožul, Leonida Cris Manojlovski, Katarina Erak, and Ema Puceković.
If your preferred form of play is art, but visual and performance, then we invite you to the exhibition that will be held in the SKC Palach Gallery. We open the exhibition on November 24 from 9:00 p.m. until 1 a.m., while on all other days, you can enjoy the exhibition from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The exhibition program all GAME no PLAY plays with the world around us, appropriating familiar patterns and twisting them, bringing everyday habits to absurdity. This interactive exhibition invites you to give control to someone else in a safe space and thus return to your childhood where playing different games had the same effect.
— Extended play – interview with the authors
On November 25, starting at 21:30, you can participate in a conversation with artists Nikolina Krstičević, Lucia Ostrogović, and Maria Chiara Ziosi, led by Katarina Erak. Through the conversation, the dynamics of power – between the participants of the exhibition and the artists – will be questioned. So if you want to shake your views and let the art do what it does best for you – change your perspectives and open up new questions – be sure to join us and let our incredible artists introduce you to a whole new perspective of the world.
— Igraonica/Arcade
As part of this year’s STIFF, three workshops will be held. The first workshop, How to visit the exhibition?, a dance workshop led by Kristina Paunovski, will be held on Saturday 26 November, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the SKC Gallery, Palach. Through this workshop, you will be able to experience what it is like to experience the content of the workshop in different ways, that is, through different movements. The second workshop, What do I take with me when I leave the exhibition space?, led by Josipa Baljak, deals with digitalizing events with a focus on the experience left behind. If you like to keep digital memories of everything you see (including exhibitions), join Josipa at the workshop because you will be encouraged to do just that. The third workshop, How to read an artistic work, will be held on Sunday, November 27. from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. led by Petr Čargonj and Natalija Stefanović. This is a blackout poetry workshop focusing on understanding contemporary artistic work. Poetry workshop where you will be able to crystallize your artistic style and create poetry yourself using the blackout method. In other words, through this workshop, you will experience poetic play and awaken the playful, abstract child in you.
